This bizarre classroom creature is a harmless, stingless wasp found worldwide. For capturing student interest, it's hard to top an insect that has wings but hops and plays possum; takes only 3 weeks to complete its life cycle; produces up to 700 offspring (95% of them female); and includes blind males who kill their brothers and mate with their sisters!
