Students grow oats hydroponically and apply 3 different nutrient solutions to determine the best fertilizer. They observe and measure growth patterns daily, then create a graph to track the height in centimeters. Kit is designed for use by 15 students working in groups of 3 or by 5 students working individually, but it can also be used by a class of 30 working in pairs. Kit includes seed, propagation material, test tubes and rack, fertilizer solutions, graph paper, rulers, pipets, and instructions.
