Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Apparatus

$8,942.40

Description

Advanced physics items are drop shipped. These products are built to order. Carolina does not hold stock. Please allow 90 days to receive your item from the time you place your order. This is the industry standard for this type of equipment.

Introduce students to the basic phenomena of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). This unit includes large permanent magnets with flat pole pieces and iron pads to improve the homogeneity of the central region of the field to better than 0.1%. Use the included fluoride sample to observe fluorine resonance and compare it to the hydrogen values. Also measure gyromagnetic ratio (with user-supplied gaussmeter), Landé factor, and nuclear magnetic moment. Recommended for advanced and college level-physics. Includes 5 aqueous samples, a glycerine sample, and instructions. An oscilloscope is needed but not supplied.

The instruction manual contains sample activities and sample data for the following:

  • Observing the hydrogen NMR resonance
  • Observing the hydrogen NMR signal in various chemical environments
  • Observing the fluorine NMR signal
  • Calculating the fluorine gyromagnetic ratio and Landé factor
