These cultures have easily observed characteristics, related to sex, that students can see without a microscope. Males have gray bodies and white eyes; females, yellow bodies and red eyes. Set includes 2 cultures, apterous and winged, with both genotypes being yellow forked attached and white. Each vial in this set contains approximately 25–30 adult flies capable of producing more than 50 offspring over a span of 2 weeks, given proper care and environmental conditions. Note: Should not be shipped over a weekend. Carolina recommends that you request your order to arrive on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (or even a Saturday) to avoid weekend shipping.
