This Biosafety Level 2 (pathogen) MicroKwik Culture® is freeze-dried cells plus medium in a vial. The culture is Gram–, nonmotile rods, and is streptomycin sensitive. It is cultured on brain heart infusion agar at 30° C. Restricted to colleges and universities only. Each culture contains enough material for a class of 30 students. MicroKwik Culture® is a Carolina® trademark for freeze-dried, viable bacteria plus medium. Since MicroKwik Cultures can be stored under refrigeration, they can be ordered ahead of time. Per vial.
